Overview Kick Off Meeting Assen

The kickoff meeting of the Leonardo da Vinci Project for Transfer of Innovation FEIGHT (The 8 solutions for fighting early school leaving in VET), reference number 2012-1-NL1-LEO05-08728, was organised by Quarter Mediation in Assen, The Netherlands, between 1st and 2nd of November 2012.


Participants from the following 8 organizations involved in the consortium took part in the meeting:

One representative of each partner involved in the consortium presented his/her organization.

Mrs. Cristina Stefan (Quarter Mediation) made a general presentation about the project objectives, activities, work plan, outcomes, dissemination and valorization plan.

Mr. Marco Nieborg (Effective Webdesign) presented two proposals for the project website and the participants agreed to choose one of them. He made also the proposal to use Teamlab as a communication tool.

Mr. Jan Uitzinger (IVAM, Universiteit van Amsterdam) gave a general view on the external evaluation process of the project.

At the end of the first day, the group of participants went to the County Hall (Provinciehuis Drenthe) in Assen where a group of students from Dr. Nassau College made a presentation of an activity having water as a target subject, an activity that is included in the IVN ‘Schools for sustainability’ project. 

On the second day, the project partners started the project’s work. The tasks of the participant organizations and their responsibilities were discussed and decided; the dates of all the project meetings were also agreed; and details were agreed about the communication process. Every detail was discussed and final decisions were taken.

In the second part of the final meeting day, Mr. Frank Snieder (Stichting IVN), the person with financial responsibility for the project, made a presentation about the financial issues, presented draft forms for the financial reports and answered questions from the participants. 

Quarter Mediation also initiated a discussion about the amendment required because of the withdrawal of the VET partner from Wales, and decisions were taken on this matter.

Mr. David Townsend Jones (ADASTRA) made a proposal for the project logo, which was agreed by the participants.
